Chiqui Carabante studied acting and direction at Instituto de Teatro de Sevilla, Philippe Gaulier School (London), Royal Court Theatre and New York Film Academy. He combines his work as film director and screenwriter with that of theatre direction. The beginning of his film career is marked by his first two short films: “Los Díaz felices” and “Bailongas”, which won more than forty awards in national and international film festivals, including Fotogramas and Gijon International Film Festival. Recently, he has directed three episodes of the tv series “Malaka”, the first episode of the fourth season of “El Ministerio del Tiempo” and this year 2020 the sixth episode of the same series, all of them for TVE.
Juliana Montañés, graduated in editing at ECAM in 2008, works as a film editor for documentaries and fiction films. She has been nominated twice for the Best Editing at “Premi Gaudí” for “La Inocencia” by Lucía Alemany and “10.000km” by Carlos Marqués-Marcet. She has edited films such as “Caracremada” by Lluis Galter, “Tierra Firme” and “Todo el tiempo del mundo” by Carlos Marqués-Marcet. Her latest works include “Examen de conciencia” a documentary series on Netflix and “El Pionero” a documentary series on HBO about the life of Jesús Gil.
Pilar Palomero started her Master in Scriptwriting and Film Directing at the Sarajevo Film Factory in 2013, under the direction of the Hungarian filmmaker Béla Tarr. As a scriptwriter and director she has worked on various short films such as “Niños Balcón”, “La noche de todas las cosas”, “Zismko Sunce” y “Horta”, which have been selected in festivals like Warsaw Film Festival, Sarajevo Film Festival, DocLisboa, Documenta Madrid, Festival de Málaga and Busan International Short Film Festival. “Las Niñas”, her first feature film was presented in the Generation KPlus competition of the Berlinale 2020, and won the Best Film Award, “Biznaga de Oro” of the 23 Festival de Málaga. Nowadays, she is developing her second feature film entitled “La Maternal”.
